If you read yesterday’s post about my decision to redeem my index funds, you might have noticed that I didn’t give you the opportunity to comment.

In fact, I’ve gone ahead and turned off all of the comments on Nicole Dieker Dot Com.

Why?

Because this blog is about doing excellent work — and comments, by their very nature, get in the way of doing excellent work.

Comment sections used to have a sense of community about them; now, they’re a dink/donk game that encourages both time-wasting and status-checking. Whatever happens in the comment section is nearly always less integrated than the preceding blog post, and excellence cannot thrive in disintegration.
